    As far as I can tell the perception has been that the market would prevent that. But as we’ve seen recently the market is self destructing without effective legislation.

      @FayeDrake Well, in fairness, they only *almost* did. They said they would, and now they say they won't.

      Bad enough, IMO. And like I said in a previous post of mine, them *having the ability* to not just stop supporting the software but also make existing copies not usable and (apparently) also denying people access to things those people created themselves using the software, is more than plenty bad enough already.
