š³ Lonely, windswept trees existing on the harsh rocky outcrops of the Yorkshire Dales limestones. -
My wife doesn't want me to make a fountain out of mercury@saraislet Perhaps you just need to present your project in more plausible terms.

So I found this to be a really interesting question, because yeah, Chuck and Brandon are ādefault Americanā names to me.@pthime @astronomerritt But the "most American" name to people outside the USA is a matter of familiarity and social perception, not statistics (or at least, that's what I was thinking in my original question). I wouldn't assume a "Michael" was from the USA, but "Chuck" sure sounds that way to me too. (Maybe because of Chuck Norris, I don't know.)

There's a Finnish citizensā initiative for digital sovereignty.@harrysintonen Petty and unsurprising, and⦠a timely demonstration of exactly the whole point.

Heated gloves are amazing.@futurebird (I didn't even know there were such gloves, but⦠) when you pull the strap across the top and fasten?

Today's snow wave is all dressed up in mouse track jewelry.@dillyd Wait, is that connecting line made by their tail?!

we went for a v cold walk out near some lakes and spotted two of these woodpeckers!@moiety Lovely! The upright alert posture reminds me of our Green-backed Tit in the Himalayas (we do not have Blue Tit here). The pink lichen is also very striking.
What's the glyph before the "Z" in your signature?

if you search for my name among that huge pile of documents that now show how everyone wanted to hang out with him, you get several hits. -
Very long ago a Finnish cellphone carrier Saunalahti tried to force us a deal where the promised plan prices included receiving ads.@aamurusko79 Something that *really* annoys me is that India now has a "Central KYC registry" shared between financial institutions (banks, mutual fund companies, brokerage companies, etc.), and the KYC record contains ONE email address. So various companies that I have any dealings with (all of whom can update the record) keep updating my email address. So in effect I can use only one.

Very long ago a Finnish cellphone carrier Saunalahti tried to force us a deal where the promised plan prices included receiving ads.@aamurusko79 Random aside: I was using such provider-specific addresses long ago, long enough that sometimes people from the provider thought I actually worked for them. And once, that even included my bank.

Very long ago a Finnish cellphone carrier Saunalahti tried to force us a deal where the promised plan prices included receiving ads.@aamurusko79 Heck, I use vodafone@ here and even in the absence of any pay-less-for-spam deal, I regularly receive spam to that address, including from other mobile carriers.

Hey, Fedi. I have a favour to ask you.@AnAutieAtUni @ShaulaEvans Oh, and this is a jumping spider too. It might not exactly be a "fun fact", but stillā¦

Hey, Fedi. I have a favour to ask you.@AnAutieAtUni @ShaulaEvans As it happens, I was pointing to a tiny, delicate green-and-white jumping spider (most likely Epeus sp.) on a wooden railing just a few hours ago, and before I finished saying "look at this spider", it had hopped up on my finger, cool as you like. And after several seconds, I tapped lightly on the railing, and it hopped off again. Lovely.
