  • Two athletes were disqualified for using banned wax and I can't automatically assume they used it on their skis because of the whole penis injection thing.

@the_etrain Nothing says streamlined for performance like a well groomed front yard and back yard, and that needs a lot of wax.

@MardraS Ah, peace. If she meets a gray tabby named Willow as she prowls the eternal catnip fields maybe they'll be friends.

  • Oh quirky and learned Mastodonians, I come before you with a dream.

@Donauschwalbe @charmingLiisa Funded by the Canada Counsel for the Arts, I’m researching Friedrich Dulon and Maria Theresia Von Paradis, both 18th century European musicians renowned in their time, and both Blind. I’m looking for info about a German translator and writer of the time, Pfeffel, who was also Blind. I’d love to find some of his fables in English. Dulon met and admired him, and Leopold Kozeluch created a secular cantata for Maria Theresia von Paradis, setting Pfeffel's German text ("Ich war ein kleines Würmchen") to music. I’d be so happy to find an audio version of this piece of music, or a translation of the lyrics into English, or Pfeffel’s fables in any form accessible to an English speaker, I’d love to be able to incorporate them into story writing, storytelling, or even singing. As a Blind person myself I'm really interested in bringing their work to life for a modern audience, but I'm mono-lingual, and a terrible researcher. Please boost for reach.

@thomasweibel This explains a lot. I'm constantly irritated by people who use the phrase, "All corners of the Earth." I get it now, there are 8!
