Western Digital has recently announced that it sold all of the year's hard-drive inventory to AI companies.@campuscodi I think they saw the grifting on RAM prices and wanted in. Doubt they actually scored 'huge AI contracts' for their HDD inventory. But who'll prosecute? And in the meantime, every HDD vendor will jump on the chance to up prices.

I don't know if you'll have a definitive answer to your question after reading but it might help. I don't have settled thoughts on direct individual requests from internationally distant strangers either.
