Today is European 112 Day 🇪🇺@fishidwardrobe @EUCommission Not too surprising as 112's introduction in the UK pre-dates Brexit by a couple of decades and is only a few years younger than the EU (as opposed to the EEC) itself:

> The pan-European 112 code was introduced in the UK in April 1995[31] with little publicity. It connects to existing 999 circuits.

BMW’s latest “innovation” isn’t about performance or safety.@BoloMKXXVIII I'd be surprised if fewer than 90% of new BMWs are leased (or similar arrangements for company cars). That's the market BMW are selling to and this sort of nonsense (like silly screw heads and degrading plastic) is the result. The residual value of the car after the first lease is a rounding error so people running cars which are more than 3 years old are their enemy.

Evolution of the Alphabet via https://usefulcharts.com/@forthy42 @cogdog @infobeautiful I think U is still a dual-use vowel/consonant, at least in English:
A Uniform.
An Umbrella.
