For the first one, I used incron. I'm not sure if it's still available in modern Linux. I'm guessing it is, since cron is also still being used.

Hey! -
Hey!I still use PHP both for hobby localhost webdev and also for local Linux scripting.
In the past, I made a script that monitored a folder for new files and then moved the files to subfolders depending on the extension.
I've also made a sort of dynamic class to handle MariaDB tables without having to make new handlers for every new table (I would just make a definition class that the dynamic class would then use).
PHP was the first language I learned 25 years ago. I love it.

How long are you active on the #Fediverse?Same. I've been around since 2018. I was more active in 2020, then took a break, came back in 2022, took another break. And so on.
Every time with a new account.

Just a thought: How about we nix Presidentsβ Day and make Election Day a national holiday instead? Thanks for the screenshot.
That sounds very reasonable. I wouldn't mind if they implemented the same here, tbh.
I had to make a tough decision on the last election because they changed the place of voting to somewhere inaccessible for me, and the only disability accommodation they've come up with was taking the urn outside and making me vote in front of people, and therefore my vote wouldn't be secret.

Just a thought: How about we nix Presidentsβ Day and make Election Day a national holiday instead? How is anonymity ensured with this method?
I'm from a country where voting is guaranteed to be anonymous, so I look at this and feel a bit weird.

Pixelfed logo variants, one of these will be the new logo β¨If you're asking for opinions... Disclaimer, I might not even use Pixelfed (but maybe this is somehow useful still).
1st row: none
2nd row: nice, but none
3rd row: good, I vote for all but especially 5 and 6 (last two from left-to-right)
4th row: none

Writers: Generative AI models were built on our stolen works, are deeply unethical, and risk devaluing our entire profession.I wonder how many of us lone coders feel closer to artists, and how many of "team/corpo coders" don't feel any sort of attachment to their code.
And on that, how many are pro-AI and how many are anti-AI.

Western Digital has recently announced that it sold all of the year's hard-drive inventory to AI companies.Just SSD? Because I've been trying to get a couple of HDDs for my home NAS and the prices keep jumping all over the place.
I wish I had gotten the idea last year, but at least last year I swapped all my hardware before the RAM crisis.

A reminder that we all have terrible days, Charles Darwin too.I don't know if it's just me, but if back in school they had put quotes like these at the beginning of all classes, I would have been far more interested in the subject.
They made it all seem so static and clinical, that I just couldn't care.

AI agent "contributes" PR to matplotlib.20 years ago we just used the "Goodbye I Hate You All" forum post generator. Far cheaper on the planet.
