Yep, and having lived in California for over 30 years, I can assure you that there are plenty of Trump supporters living in this state.

It's Feb 2026, and 49% of white people in the US approve of the way Trump is handling immigration. -
I also like the idea of requiring young adults to do paid service jobs for a year--kind of like Peace Corps but expanded to include caregiver and the kind of social jobs that are now done by volunteers.As I mentioned in my own blog on the subject of work: I recall a conversation here on Mastodon where one person said that everyone needs employment. Another responded that no, everyone needs food, clothing, shelter, and health care. We just happen to have a society where in order to get these things, you (normally) need to be employed in a job.

Once again there are way better options out there than Substack.As I've stated whenever this comes up, I am saddened that many of my fellow progressives continue to support the #Substack platform.

Even when there’s no accountability, the record matters.This is part of why I consider my volunteer editing on #Wikipedia to be the most important job of my life. An accurate record of the atrocities of this administration must be preserved.
