Initial P. Macclesfield Psalter, England ca.@medieval_illuminations the gold in the background of the P is really beautiful. What a contrast to the drama depicted in it. I can't decide whether the woman is praying for mercy or cheering the creature on. It depends whether I focus on her face or her hands.
