@ikuo1000 I'm sorry. The system is awful. Your kid is very lucky to have a mom who is willing and able to help with the legwork. My heart breaks for all the people who fall between the cracks because they don't have anyone to help them with the endless phone calls and research.

Not only could they not remember ever hearing the term "Schengen Area", they were also surprised to learn that anything like it existed anywhere in the world.
