  • #AskFedi for those of you who are #blind or #VisuallyImpaired , or regularly use #ScreenReaders but aren't either, is it better for readability if I capitalise words in #hashtags or use underscores?
    LukyanL Lukyan

@disorderlyf As a sighted person I usually read that capitalizing each word in the tag is preferred, and I prefer reading such.

The screen reader Orca seems to pronounce the underscores (as "line"), but otherwise the words are also separated.

The app suggesting lowercase tags is a known issue, https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon/issues/20267, it most likely suggests the first casing it has recorded unless it was later edited by the instance admins.

  • Post your favorite "Lord of the Rings" character.

@mrencyclopedia TIL Tove Jansson did significant illustrations of Tolkien's books. I immediately recognized the style of Moomin illustrations and thought that it's a Moomin character.

Mine would be the one on the quest to destroy the evil lord's artifact after having to escape the home of his uncle. Saved by Obi-Wan Kenobi.

  • you are using NodeBB 4.8.1, unfortunately fae doesn't know much about this software so cannot tell if it's up-to-date or not,,, :(

@sugar I'm appreciating my admin for the patch included in mine. (But not for its deployment scripts.)

  • i made an archery game that uses your charging cable as the controller

@rebane2001 Fun idea. Now I see that a usual game controlled by mouse clicks should have the hardware last several thousand times longer (probably reduced by much higher click rate of a user not experienced with the charging port).

@ShadowJonathan Same. My usual reaction to ads is more like Gandalf covering the palantír.
