@gedeonm Popeyes had a special pickle themed menu over the summer—pickle fried chicken, spicy pickle fried chicken, and yes, pickle lemonade. I saw Kenji Lopez-Alt review it positively and curiosity got the better of me. It was all strangely delicious. The acidity of vinegar, the herby notes of dill, and yes, the salt, all work better with lemonade than you would think. Lemons are already acidic, and think of how well they pair with herbs like basil, thyme, and rosemary.
Anyway, it was all unusual, sure, but it worked! Don’t knock it ‘til you’ve tried it.
