@netopwibby I know what you mean. The actual tech is incredible — I’m on a power-sipping M4 Max with all the upgrades, and it’s sci-fi performance. But it’s a thousand paper cuts everywhere else!

Lot of reposts on this! I feel like I’ve found my people, as I’m on a bit of a journey these days. #FOSS as resistance, an end to billionaires, crush fascism, redistribute wealth. Social justice and equality and privacy for all. Kindness, but mind the paradox of tolerance.

Put another way, if you had $50,000 in annual disposable income (after tax), Apple’s $1m would be like you donating 41 cents… and issuing a press release about it.

Also those donations are presumably tax-exempt.

Apple made $117.8bn in total profit (not revenue, of course) over the past four quarters, which is an average of $323 million per day. So when they loudly donate $1m to a charity or a disaster relief fund, they're giving 0.3% of their profits for that single day.
