@randahl There's a great European precedent of a king who saw an overseas country as his personal belonging and enriched himself with the natural resources of it. His name was King Leopold II of Belgium and he deemed the Congo to be his property, killing millions of people while exploiting it.

If people can predict what you're going to do, you're not displaying enough power.I almost feel like the inconsistency is a feature, not a bug. It shows he can do literally anything.

@randahl I know a fellow in Denmark that was on that dog sled patrol team. It is no joke - one year to circumnavigate the Greenland land mass, and a year of training with the previous year's team before that.

@randahl @emilion I just want to say, from one Canadian to one Dane, that I am sorry that my Prime Minister has been completely and inexcusably silent when it comes to any statement in defense of Danish and Greenlander sovereignty in the past few days.Please forgive our temporarily weak-kneed neo-liberal ruling party. I do think they'll snap out of it at some point, but for some reason not right now. I'll be doing everything I can to encourage my elected parliamentarian to demand better of Prime MInister Carney in the House once he is back from meetings in Paris this week.
