  • If you use #NVDA 64 bit with #eloquence, v8 is out for you now.

    @fastfinge Ok that explains why the issue was closed then! Thanks.

    @fastfinge Does this work with portable versions without manually copying the .exe or is it still that way. Sorry if I'm wrong about this, I'm going by what I read on Mastodon.

  • Wish BitWarden would fix a few accessibility concerns.

    Wish BitWarden would fix a few accessibility concerns. 1password deffinitly leads in accessibility, and it's slightly better unlocking than bitWarden is. I have to check autofill and only lock on reboot at the very least in order to have a good user experience with it. https://www.makeuseof.com/switched-from-lastpass-to-bitwarden-open-source-password-manager/

  • What's the best accessible SSH setup on Windows these days?

    @jscholes @Jage @blindndangerous @Orinks @walkside3 I don't understand why Codex is still pushing people to the Linux version. I have 0 problems with the windows one. I'm not installing WSL just for Codex. Wonder why they still recommend that.

    @jscholes @Jage @blindndangerous @Orinks @walkside3 I've seen this recommendation from AI's too. I think it's like 5 years out of date though.

    @Orinks @x0 @BorrisInABox @daygar I think it's at the same level as bitwarden, although bitwarden is more accessible in my opinion. 1Password has the security key on top of your password on first login, which ads a layer of security to their service. I don't think you can tab into a list of your sights with BitWarden but you can do such a thing with 1password.

    @socheat @Orinks SSh comes with windows itself now, so just for ssh wsl is not required for that.

  • The American Council of the Blind's BITS organization has pointed members to a survey being conducted by Microsoft on Narrator and other screen readers.

    @kellylford Apple doesn't charge for Eloquence. WTF Microsoft no. That would make no sence since their voices are higher premium feeling, so charging for eloquence would feel wierd. I've bought the sapi version, and the NVDA addon version over the years. I'm kind of sick of purchasing the same thing.
