Ignoring for the moment the political implications (*just* for the moment), it'll be a logistical nightmare to set up a temporary street course on only 6 months notice. Most such events take well over a year for the initial running. And it probably won't be a very interesting course.

The political implications? IndyCar owner Roger Penske has his Medal of Freedom from Trump. This is payback time. Penske is only too happy to fellate him.
