No, LLMs don’t “pose interesting philosophical questions”.@aesthr The only interesting thing about it is how well it reveals the annoying human tendency to anthropomorphise everything.

AI agent "contributes" PR to matplotlib.@anderseknert Unbelievable.
Thanks for the heads up anyway. Pre-emptively blocked the account.

i've heard it's twosday?@moonrabbit The ultimate Twosday was Tuesday 22/02/2022. I took a selfie with a clock at 22:22:22 that day.

Everyone loves blaming a victim.@vkc 100% Agree. I remember Rebecca Watson kept a wall of hate website with the worst stuff because guys kept claiming she was exaggerating. She most definitely was not, and "just ignoring it" only helps the people who prefer to pretend the problem doesn't exist.

I have tendinopathy in my left shoulder, so I filed a claim with my work's medical insurance (it's faster than the public system).@nitpicking I mean, they do some of the stuff physiotherapists do, but that's what physiotherapists are for. They also come in different grades of quackery.

I got the approval for treatment today, and it's depressing to see that two of the five treatment options were chiropractors. It's alternative medicine, and based on pseudoscience. It should not be an approved form of treatment for coverage at all.
The other three options were physiotherapists, which are at least medical practitioners.

Since we here in the USA don’t know the #metric system, we need to learn more units for this weekend@dianea "Snowfall today was two batteries and one credit card."

I heard last week that the physics teacher of the daughter of one of my colleagues told the daughter that girls who do their nails don’t do physics.@freyablekman Great idea. I was there in September and there was a lot less fun stuff than there used to be when I worked at CERN (I worked on Hi-Lumi LHC some years ago).

I heard last week that the physics teacher of the daughter of one of my colleagues told the daughter that girls who do their nails don’t do physics.@freyablekman Hear hear. I have a PhD in high energy physics, and I have done my nails a lot too. I don't do it so much these days because my nails rip very easily. Anyway, I particularly love the magnetic nail polish where you can use a magnet to create field lines as they dry. If that's not for physicists, then who!?
