At least I've never heard of it outside imported TV-shows.But it's a good point to say that not everyone owns a credit/debit card that works online. Though how many of those people are on Mastodon, is anyone's guess.

@C_Ottenburg @energisch_ @coastgnu @AwetTesfaiesus Im amerikanischen Recht hat man auch die Möglichkeit, seine Werke ins public domain zu setzten (was bei sehr vielen von Regierungsbehörden produzierten Dokumenten der Fall ist).Das deutsche Recht sieht jedoch keine Möglichkeit für einen lebenden Autor vor, sein Werk gemeinfrei zu machen. Das muss man dann über Umwege wie die Creative Commons Zero-Lizenz tun.

@cstross like I said ages ago, licensing VPN users is the intent. You'll need a "good" reason to obtain one, otherwise your isp will block #vpn traffic.
