Usually the approach with this kind of thing is building credibility by helping people with their problems first and then inviting them to participate in additional maybe more challenging actions.Boycott campaigns can work, but they need a cleary defined objective and a strong base building strategy that can carry the movement through to some defined conclusion. Historically tech is really bad at this since we don't really try to build labor power or any kind of collective organization that resonates with the masses tho.

@joho You need a login to check the weather on the Met Office aviation weather site (or you did when I used it).I thought this was useful as it gave an audit trail - the crash investigators would know that you *had* checked the weather and would be able to rule out "pilot couldn't be arsed to check the weather" as a cause.

@openrightsgroup The areas marked with those signs might see a marked reduction in the number of people willing to enter them. Facial recognition cameras are why I no longer shop at Best Buy or Target as just one example.
