    Let’s invest the private health premiums instead into our universal healthcare system for everyone.

      @ApaulD

      Thing is ... many of these so-called private hospitals are nothing more than rehab centres where a patient can go after being treated in a public hospital by their own private doctor ...

      And in country areas people are paying PHI to be treated in a public hospital because there are no private hospitals and no specialists either ...

      Whole set up is ridiculous and just a money making exercise ...

        @ApaulD
        #Heatlh care is one of those social needs that cannot be run by profit making organisations. There is something immoral and ethically wrong about deriving any profit from the suffering of Others. Providing health services to make a living that is commensurate with median to average social norms is one thing, but to enrich oneself and or shareholders is profoundly anti-human. There is no moral or ethical argument to mount in favour of ‘for profit health care’. Period. Gutless govt stooges are remiss and commit crimes agains society by allowing this kind of #StateCapture (well, any state capture actually). How bad does it have to get before progressive changes are enacted to nationalise all health services and practitioners?
