The idea that anyone who is considering voting Green could also contemplate voting for Reform is so fucking daft that I can only assume that a small proportion of the electorate suffer from chronic fucking daftness.

@Nickiquote It blows my mind too but I saw it happen with my own eyes as someone I knew and thought was progressive who was leading the charge for Bernie spun on a dime and started supporting Trump when it came down to the final two candidates.

@Nickiquote Or possibly they suffer from chronic fucking botness: https://www.pewresearch.org/methods/2020/02/18/assessing-the-risks-to-online-polls-from-bogus-respondents/. Key quote: βPart of the explanation is that a segment of opt-in respondents express positive views about everything β even when that means giving seemingly contradictory answers.β

@Nickiquote@mstdn.social Far too many people think we still live in the old world of that centralist tug-of-war, going slightly left and slightly right, back and forth, but ultimately just moving centrally, keeping the status quo, and there being little difference between the two.
But we've hit a brick wall, and are at a T-junction. There is only far left or far right now. Unfortunately though, far too many people can't see that Reform are far right. They look at them the same as Conservatives, rather than the rebranding of the British National Party, which is exactly what they are.
I've literally had people try to argue with me from a position that Reform aren't racist, or fascist, and that is just disinformation from the left.
Chronic fucking brain dead stupidity. -
