The tragedies unfolding in my town are so awful. The weather events of the last couple of days caused dozens of landslides - I can see several from my house. One in my neighbourhood claimed two lives, one at the beach is still unfolding: two bodies recovered so far, with six more missing, some of them kids.
I know I can't do anything useful, I need to get on with *things*, but I keep getting mental flashes of how it must be for those families. For those kids. I can't bear it.

@essjax Sometimes I find I just need to be a witness to big things. Not in person, but hanging in there as the news comes through in silent solidarity. It’s a vigil.

It is hard to comprehend - when solid ground isn’t solid any more. And yes there’s something even more awful about kids on holiday. Sending hugs πŸ«‚

It is such a devastating situation, and so hard to watch helplessly as others go through such grief. Much love to you and all your community.
