The pond is brackish water and next to a levy at the Eel River Wildlife Area Ocean Ranch. In Humboldt County northern California within walking distance to the Pacific Ocean and Table Bluff. -

Looks like an interesting area, and Humboldt Bay was only discoverd and named in the 19th century. -

Ahhh...
But I am Wailaki so my family has been here for much longer than that.
We live in a very scenic area.
It is a ten minute drive from my house to the pond in the photo. -

It sounds very scenic and kind of remote. When I looked the area up on Google Maps I also checked what restaurants are there and it seems there are plenty good ones in the area.
It was really interesting to read about this area in the north of California. Thanks again.
