At this point US cars like Tesla should be checked if they are they spying Canadians. US beng a neighbor is a greater danger with that data. -

How will they do that?Demand that Chinese EV open source their onboard software?
Give them exceptions to a number of modern safety features that require cars to be able to go online? (Admittedly these might not be mandatory in Canada)

It will keep both the MAGAt and CCP nasties out. /s@i47i Sorry, but there is a conflict here. As I know the EU rules better, I'll use these here, but it's literally so that we require carmakers now to put systems into the cars to be online, e.g. two that come immediately to mind in the EU are:
- automatic emergency calls upon crash detection
- showing the correct speed limit
Now our dear politicians might have not realized it, but calculating the current valid speed limit just from visual clues is in general an impossible problem: -
