Hear me out: Antiques Roadshow, but for cursed objects.

@wettpaynt
Is it more science fiction like Warehouse 13 or more horror like, well, Friday the 13th? Warehouse 13 is one is my favorite shows so I'm certainly interested but I don't do well with horror or horror adjacent.
@GayDeceiver@bobkmertz @wettpaynt @GayDeceiver the least horror. i would call it urban fantasy. i rather liked it.

@GayDeceiver here's a cleaner version
@ramblindragon there is a certain “cursed or not cursed” quiet vibe about it for sure.

@GayDeceiver Well, indeed your ordinary gold ring is quite extraordinary. If we hold it in this fire here, you will see some faint script revealed which is in fact the sign of the maker, the Dark Lord Sauron. As far as value goes, at auction I would conservatively estimate about $1 million and I'd insure it for $1.5 to $2 million. Of course, it's real value is to dominate the lesser rings and their owners, so it's priceless. Thanks for bringing it.
@galacticstone @GayDeceiver I could never sell it, it has such sentimental value. It's so precious to me.

"Here we have Jack, who acquired at auction a 20' shipping container sold for non-payment of storage fees containing, per the manifest provided by the warehouse, 'The Hoard of Acererak the Demi-Lich'. Jack, have you opened the container yet?"
"No, I was waiting for you."
"Then would you mind doing the honours? The key is in the padlock—"

@GayDeceiver what a fascinating history this object has. Just for insurance purposes... please check your policy covers the full family for mental health problems and check there's no exemptions for familial homicide in case the pattern holds for a fourth time.

@GayDeceiver Bonus prize for anyone who can remember playing that dungeon module when it came out back in the 1970s or early 80s.

@GayDeceiver There was a mission in Orpheus (White Wolf RPG, early 2000s) for that. Extremely cool stuff. I really enjoyed playing the campaign a second time after about 20 years with the same storyteller.
