They just heavily gassed.

@alissaazar are people able to pick up and throw the teargas away?
@sbeebe yes and many have been and many got sent back. These are just the ones I was able to get ahold of that got left behind.

@alissaazar https://www.msdsdigital.com/system/files/Defense%20Technology%201026%20-%20Triple-Chaser%20Separating%20Canister%20CS%20-%20US.pdf a safety sheet for the cs canister. Maybe useful, maybe interesting. These also apparently cost about 35 dollars each.
Edit: OC canister, so this might be wrong too.
@elebertus they used triple chaser CS too that’s what’s in the first pic. Thank you!

Tonight’s collection of spent munitions
@alissaazar who makes these? Is there some factory in America that churns them out?
-
This was the view after I moved away for some reprise. You can see after the flash bang grenade goes off a bird flying. Was a heartbreaking reminder it's not just people impacted by this but animals and nature too.
@alissaazar All that gas makes it look like fucking WWI.

@Poljack defense technology / safariland

Idk what’s going on today. I put in new filters this morning after they deployed HC last Saturday and gas was still seeping through my mask so I had to walk away. Both medics who helped me said it was getting in their masks as well.
@alissaazar most likely answer is a bad seal, and after hard use, that isn’t uncommon. We used to have to do “fit tests” in the hospital for our respirators, and I don’t “fit” any of them. The bitter crap they aerosolize into a hood over your head always snuck in one way or another. Almost every time I clean my duck coop with a 3M silicone respirator, there is still black dust along my nose when I’m done.

@mcnado I had brand new filters on but I think you’re right. Just tried it on again after decon and I think it’s just on the right side of my face no matter how much I tighten it or adjust it won’t seal properly there’s a little gap. Hopefully there’s a way to fix this really don’t want to have to buy a new mask

Idk if it’s the exposure to HC last Saturday in addition to all the gas tonight or what but I really don’t feel good and i have never experienced chest pain like this in my life. Others messaging me about how nauseous they are.
When I first got treated by a medic they wanted to rinse my eyes first. Which yeah, I couldn’t see, but it was mainly my chest. I couldn’t breathe and it was so painful. Felt better for a little bit, maybe was the adrenaline, but now it’s back and it’s rough.

@alissaazar not sure what material that specific one is, but see what they say for cleaning. May have a bunch of residue on it that prevents a good seal. I have two “identical” 3M ones and one leaks like hell and I’ve never figured out why.
Also, thanks for the updates on this fucking bullshit. We all appreciate your reporting!

So sorry to hear you are feeling poorly. Certainly cumulative exposure is a bad thing. Hopefully you will recover quickly. Take care Alissa. You are amazing.

Someone just told me that they saw multiple people passed out during the first brutal wave of tear gas when there were still a ton of children and elderly folks

Have a question for you. Do the federal agents get a lot of exposure to the gas as well?
One would think that they are breathing some of it everyday. It must be having an effect on them too.

There was a line of children waiting to get treated by medics

@mastodonmigration I know they have top of the line PPE, but it has to. HC also gets absorbed in the skin. A few months back one of the feds took off his gas mask because even with it on he was choking on the chemicals they deployed

Interesting. Just wondering about the cumulative effect on them. When you read about soldiers in WW1 you learn about how they all went crazy from the gas exposure. That's in addition to the other physical health problems.

@alissaazar the natural world is going to be suffering from this for a long time, I fear

This far right ICE supporter came to cause problems. There was a scuffle and then he pulled out his mace. He’s still here.
@alissaazar AYIN TACTICAL morale patch on his chest rig. Great pick
