A link between childhood measles and premature ‘ageing’ of the body seems to be being established. It is just a newspaper report (I have not looked at the journal papers yet) but it reads as a good summary. Like many people I would only like to live to a ‘ripe old age’ if I am reasonably healthy.
One assumes the anti-vaxxers will be crying ‘fake news' and refusing any such nonsence.

@Wen I got the shingles vaccine a few weeks ago. Felt terrible for about 24 hours but glad I did. A Welsh study showed reductions in dementia between older people who got it and ones who were a year older who didn't.

@nini Hence the lunacy of rejecting the MMR. I had measles as a child and it was unpleasant then. Our children were vaccinated and never had the illness.
