My brother will be at his buddy's house this weekend for the Super Bowl, and as such it will be an All Things Salmon weekend for me!
Decided along with the piece of salmon for dinner, I'd get a little package of smoked salmon and have a very fancy bagel or something.
Trader Joe's had *Pastrami Style* smoked salmon, and well, I couldn't resist - I'll report back!
And because I am pretty much incapable of just walking into Trader Joe's without multiple episodes of, "Ooh, that looks good, let's try it!" I also have a 4 pack of Churro Espresso Martini cocktails.
The gal checking me out said, "Oh, I ordered those! For me!"
I'm glad she did so we can all try it.

@cafechatnoir I suppose it sounds weird to me since I'm someone who never drinks martinis, much less espresso ones. Just never became a cocktail person.

Basically just a little sweeter with a nice hint of cinnamon than a regular one.

@cafechatnoir I kind of turned up my nose at the espresso martini as a mixo because they were so trendy for a while. And I'm not a fan of premade canned cocktails for the same (rather elitist) reasons. But I probably should learn to relax a bit. I've had some of the canned G&Ts - Cutwater, I think - and it was...acceptable?
I did recently pick up some Mr. Black, speaking of trends, which is supposed to be *the* way to mix an espresso martini. Did a Black Russian with it first and that was quite good. If you are into EMs I'd definitely recommend picking up a bottle. -

Oh, the smoked salmon is good! The pastrami seasoning isn't very strong, but enough to make it interesting.
Toast rounds, cream cheese, a bit of red onion, and the salmon.
Got the red onion because I seem to recall my Dad waxing rhapsodic about smoked salmon with red onion - though I could be confusing that with his love of braunschweiger and red onion. Either way, it was a nice addition.

@cafechatnoir If you'd put it on a bagel and added capers, you'd have the traditional dish. (I don't use the capers, either.) Red onion is definitely part of it!
