Pretti legally had a permit for the firearm and was an IC nurse providing medical care to the nation's veterans. (Confirmed by The Guardian)

@Remittancegirl @randahl it's really hard to now that the internet is flooded with posts about the shooting containing the image. Going to the subtreddit, the current weekly megathread is less than 24 hours old.
I am not sure it is valid. And its beside the point that he had a permit to carry both locally and implicit by Tue second amendment.

Yeah, I thought the picture of Alex Pretti's gun made it online a little early. If his weapon was registered in MN, it be easy enough for law enforcement to check if this weapon is even the same type of gun he owned.

@randahl @Remittancegirl i can't find the post any more, but i saw someone on bsky explaining that the timestamp on the results is from the beginning of the thread. so even if the photo is from today, if it's posted on an older thread, it gets the timestamp of the first post.
haven't had time to confirm it, though, so take me with a large grain of salt.@dave Hmmm. That could be the case. But I was getting links from days back that were not from social media threads.
But my aim really was to underscore the point that when an entire administration's response to these killings is immediately and blatantly lie about what can be clearly seen by everyone, there is absolutely no need to take a piece of evidence as ephemeral as a digital image as proof of anything.
