@virtuous_sloth Yes, but it would be known as eggy bread and might appear as part of a fried breakfast.

@virtuous_sloth I think the closest I've done is make a very soft, non-crunchy "croque monsieur" type sandwich, so basically a French toast grilled cheese. I can't remember what particularly inspired it, but sometimes I'm just not in the mood for any sort of crunchy food. In that mood, I can imagine following your savoury French toast suggestions as a more cozy comfort food version of scrambled eggs on toast.
(I've also done peanut butter on French toast, but I'm not sure if that counts as savoury. It's certainly not something I'd usually put on scrambled eggs! I usually have jam on French toast, so PB seems a natural extension of that.)
