    Finally got around to finishing the body of the strip-quilt-as-you-go peg bag I started ages ago. I need to consult @bob re what he wants for the handle(s), since this is technically a gift for him (though I will use it too).

    and then I sewed along three edges to make the bag, and finished the opening with unbiased binding (exactly like bias binding except not cut on the bias — if you’re binding a perfectly straight edge with no corners or curves then you don’t need the flexibility that the bias gives you).

      Very nice! This could certainly be done with either jelly rolls or strips of your scraps, or a mixture of the 2. I've usually sewn straps on before completing the base of a bag, but they can certainly be done either way.
