@evergreensewing As others have said, tension troubles are the fastest way to derail a sewing project. Fortunately for me, I did a lot of my early sewing at sewing shops, in classes. Folks were helpful enough to point out that tension troubles are usually problems with the upper threading. My newer machine is much easier to thread, so I'm learning that the incorrect needle might be causing problems on current projects.#sewing

@DanielMenjivar @sewing The zipper chain sounds like a good price. If one buys the pre-packaged "zipper by the yard", it's quite pricey. I just finished a zipped lunchbag and I'm curious about the by-the-yard option. I have some very low-cost nylon zippers I'll play around with before I invest more in notions.

@renardboy Yes I'm well familiar with UV degradation of polypropylene, but in this case it was just the stitches that failed.If I find some better scrap material, I'll make some better carrier. This winter the carrier has proven itself

@ai6yr Wow, that's great! I have a lot of very comfy PJs, often sewn from used sheets. I especially love that they all have spacious pockets. They were usually toiles for garments I wanted to make with good fabric. They helped me to decide what to modify on future makes.
