The Alberta Prosperity Project seek to place a referendum on separating Alberta — known as the Texas of Canada — from the rest of the country on the ballot this year. They said a fourth meeting with Trump administration officials in Washington, D.C., is tentatively planned in the coming weeks to further discuss a transition process should their effort prove successful.

@GeriAQuin I've been wanting to move home to Calgary for some time now, but I've recently been questioning moving from one place of political quackery to another. Maybe New Brunswick. I hear New Brunswick is cool.

I recently moved back to NB from the Prairies. No regrets.
It's tough finding a doctor, but no different from just about anywhere else in the country.

Neat! I've been looking at the St. John area. It seems to have everything I'd like, and my partner would really like to be near water (which Calgary is definitely not).

If you end up there, look at the Quispamsis area. It's near the river and freshwater beaches. There's a seasonal ferry at Gondola Point to get to the Kingston Peninsula. Very pretty area.
It also doesn't get the fog and mist that Saint John proper gets frequently.
I'm in Moncton. It's about 20kms from really nice salt-water Parlee Beach provincial park. The water is warm enough for swimming most of the summer and the beach is sandy.
It's also close enough for day trips to PEI. -

@GeriAQuin I'd certainly love to know how that would affect those of us without brain damage. If this lunacy passes I hope there's enough of a window to book it to another province, I have 0 desire to live in an American territory.
