Only available in limited places, it was marketed as "allergy-friendly" & cost an extra $20/night, which I was happy to pay since the room comes with an air purifier (though it was placed at the side of the room and not in a central location) so it saved me the trouble of packing my own.

I know it's a privilege to be able to afford the extra charge, plus it looks like Pure Rooms are generally available only in places priced mid-range or higher.
And absolutely clean air should not be treated as a luxury!
I would much prefer the norm to be proper ventilation and air purifiers in all public places, including hotel rooms, but while that's not yet a thing, I'm willing to pay a little extra to show that there is a demand for clean indoor air.
