Problem with that, though is you lose access to banking software. Lot of traditional of banking societies have been moving towards managing your account through a phone application and challenger banks are almost exclusively managed through them.

Last I heard, digital identification is still around but no longer mandatory.

Possible, but difficult. Not practical unless you've got access to the resources available in law enforcement.

If you really need it, you could have a phone in your house to the most basic things, and (for today, might not be the same in 5 years) you could still manage your banking account without them, but it's not an experience you want...
