    Our came-with-the-house 2018 LG fridge/freezer has failed. With a 2022 compressor repair, and qualifying for 2 class action suits, it's time to cut the losses. We wasted so much meat this time 😞

    While completely empty, after having been unplugged for 10 days, I fired it back up, and confirmed using #Ubiquiti UPSense - not the intended purpose, but pretty neat anyway.

      @myke You can claim those losses on your home insurance. Hopefully, you took pictures of the waste. Probably not worth the time and hassle though.

        @human3500 @myke it happened the night before we went overseas, so it was all a rush. Bought a bar fridge at 21:30 that night. Losses are not worth the headache of a minor, yet ANOTHER insurance claim - after my condo's destruction last year.

            @human3500 @myke

            Condo is still ongoing, drywall is getting mudded now: https://mstdn.ca/@mWare/115525891517204487

            Other challenges so far this year: New hire was poached before start day, wife's car battery died and I changed it in -25 Friday night (broke a bolt too!), friend/customer is going bankrupt - costing my company six-digits, still waiting for MRI/surgery of a busted ankle, just found out I lost a $400K gig this year... but really it's fine tho - all of these problems are tractable, this isn't bad. Wife and I are a great team and really good at getting through stuff together.
