@dan613 that reflects very poorly on your reading comprehension, which honestly explains a lot about this whole discussion. Here's a detailed explanation you can read since critical thinking isn't something you're capable of doing independently https://www.thomasfazi.com/p/davos-carney-and-the-staged-revolt

@dan613 I did answer your simple question, Carney openly admitted that the whole rules based order was the US projecting power globally subjugating non western nations to create favourable conditions for its vassals like Canada.

The article I linked you in the last reply gives the context for what Carney said with concrete examples of atrocities NATO engaged in Afghanistan, Libya, and many other countries.

@pinhman @yogthos all that is true, but what he said in front of the world is more biting and incisive than anything neoliberals have said in forever, and this is why we are being reminded so often of his neoliberal values.

Still, he said something that was more of a condemnation of the neoliberal world order than any neoliberal has. We have to capture that moment, remind neoliberals and fascists of it.

@milkman76 @pinhman @yogthos I was questioning this: "offers only a hardened neoliberalism as an alternative" from your original post, which wasn't in his speech. Trade with other countries is not neoliberalism, and I don't understand why you think it is.

@dan613 @milkman76 @pinhman Carney's whole speech is about preserving the neoliberal order without the US. He's thesis is that western liberalism thrived under the US umbrella, and now that it's gone, western countries need to band together to preserve this system of relations going forward.

@yogthos @dan613 @pinhman this is well understood. But again, I honed in on his catastrophic condemnation of that order, which stands out among his peers, regardless. You know things are getting serious for the neoliberals when they begin to admit truths some of us have put a lot of energy into getting others to listen to for decades. (Im not a Carney supporter, im a fan of Neoliberalism blacking its own eyes out)

@dan613 @milkman76 @pinhman if socialism was the dominant system in the world there would be no extractive hegemony in the first place, and hence this speech would not exist

@yogthos @milkman76 @pinhman There would still be the largest economy in the world right next to us, extractive or not. And moving *away* from it is the opposite of perpetuating neo-liberalism.

@dan613 @yogthos @pinhman I dont think there is an argument here. One can promote an incisive statement (among incisive statements) without also supporting the overall neoliberal ideology espoused by the man. The damage was done, and Im here to salt that wound.

Ok, would it be the same if every single country in the world was ruled by people like @nyx , Ahaiyuta, TwoWhateverist, and the like?

Despite this, I think that in a world where all countries are like Nyx Land's Nammu, there would have no nation states left and that Jiang Xueqin's Libertarianism would become true lol.
