@FelisCatusDomesticus @cwebber I didn't have a "trivial mind" at that age
so what?
-
@FelisCatusDomesticus @cwebber you can't exactly do that individually on a dime like that
yes you can.
social media in it's current form has existed less than 30 years.
humans have existed far longer than that.
viable options exist and have for years now.
there is no technical reason, only individual reasons and social ones and those are completely malleable. Most of my life there was no social media. It didn't exist.
-
@fluffykittycat @cwebber better to do that than to let their kids have rights
-
@cwebber @FelisCatusDomesticus true, high schoolers are walking out coast to coast so often I see it in the headlines at least every couple of weeks
What's changed is that we all know our "representitives" don't care and won't listen
and that's the same thing your great grandparents said about the politicians of their day vis-a-vis the Vietnam War..
soo.. what's the young generation gonna do?
-
@fluffykittycat @cwebber fucking correct. and as it becoems more and more of a common sense thing, parents and people in power scream ever louder at the concept that they might have to start having, not rights, but responsibilities

Red alert! If this sounds like bad shit that's because IT IS
There was a time when the whole internet would be rallied against this stuff.....
@cwebber what the fuck what the fuck what the fuck
-
@neatchee @KarlHeinzHasliP @cwebber
this is where parental responsibility comes into the picture.
except in cases of gross incompetence, parents are still in charge of their kids, at least until age 18.
let's not forget all common sense here.
when the parents are as incompetent with tech as the kids, or even more so, then this is a different discussion.
@FelisCatusDomesticus @KarlHeinzHasliP @cwebber it's almost entirely parental responsibility and social influence, that's my point. Kids are kids.

@cwebber How in the absolute shit are they expecting to enforce such a ridiculous regulation? Or is that not something politicians care about?

@neatchee @KarlHeinzHasliP @cwebber
and dumb parents usually produce children who are equally dumb.
-
@FelisCatusDomesticus @neatchee @cwebber Got a source link?
-
@cwebber young generations today are too stupid, too brainwashed, too self absorbed, to care
@FelisCatusDomesticus @cwebber they probably act like that toward you because you make this kind of comment that the generation before you was also making about youβ¦

-
@fluffykittycat @freya @cwebber Because otherwise their kid might end up becoming one of those got dang "home of sexuals" and that's literally the worst thing to ever possibly happen to anyone ever
-
@FelisCatusDomesticus @cwebber you can't exactly do that individually on a dime like that
the FOMO is too strong in the young generation..
they haven't figured it out yet..
if this were not true, then they would not need anything more than email and 1980's style BBS to communicate online.
-
@fluffykittycat @gorlak @cwebber indeed, and what about content regarding Wicca, or Islam? Where's the line and who decides it?

@cwebber how does this affect Linux distributions? What if a distro is too small and doesnβt have the means?
