KKK and ICE are easily worse than these, but we need to be conscious once the Left wins political strength, there are (mostly AMAB) elements who will try to abuse their new found power. If you want to see who that will be, look for those claiming Joseph Stalin never actually killed anybody and that witchcraft is Anti-Revolution.

@redsad Who's strawmanning now? I didn't mention Stalin as a criticism of the far left. I WAS calling out his present day fanbois, who DO EXIST on mastodon. Sure that are a minority, but it only takes one demagogue to shit in the pool. If you had any long term experience with real protest movements you would know this.

in fact I would go so far as to say centrism doesn't really exist. it's all right wing. there is no middle ground between "everyone should have equal rights" and "let's commit genocide"

I've seen them even call centrist parties (Like the Czech Pirate Party, which is the most progressive, pro equal-rights one we have) bolsheviks, because they dare submit such horrid ideas like "Hey what if we allowed same sex marriage and adoption" or "What if we made gender affirming care more accessible" or "What if we punished monopolies and supported smaller businesses" or "What if we made housing cheaper by taxing empty unused flats that people hold onto for speculating the housing market"

@Devils_Rancher @redsad Stalinism is a good example of why one needs to be more vigilant fighting opportunistic oppressive assholes who clearly don't care about the people and was nowhere near the idea of what the left should represent.
The right just so happens to be filled to the brim with these same people who don't even bother pretending they care about society, for them it's always been a fight with their fellow man for every resource until there'll be nothing left. To quote a meme video with Squidward, "The more they'll take, the less they'll have. They'll starve surrounded by gold"
And they fool you into making the left seem so much worse, to think teen me almost believed them (Thankfully I met people who managed to pull me away from that mess, but I'll never live down the asshole I was in my late teens)

@redsad agree. centrism is right-wing because it's conservative. let's keep the status quo etc. Letting people who want to *wind back* human progress characterise their aims as "conservative" instead of regressive is a tactical error.
