Personally I am also in the camp of "scratching my own itch" kind of development... probably that's what made me comment.And because there's a strong distinction between the two types of open-source efforts, when you address an audience with advice like that, you need to strongly qualify which you're addressing.

@julian I'm not assuming malice. I'm letting them know that they're sent me a link my email cient warned me about. It's quite possible they just didn't bother to disable the tracking link- from looking at the headers, they seem to be using CampaignMail Lite and it's not clear to me from a quick look what the default is. And no it's not actually the case it is "all but required" to have links like "https://veapdq.clicks.mlsend.com/ty/cl/eyJ2Ijoie1wiYVwiOjEyODgxNTAsXCJsXCI6MTc3NzY2NTY5OTg2NzU0MDY2LFwiclwiOjE3Nzc2NjU4MTY4MDQ3NDA3MX0iLCJzIjoiMmQ0ODdmYzkyMGRkYjU4NiJ9" instead of a straightforward link to the fediforum page on the fediforum. Links like that are for tracking, period, the end.

@Doris Ja Danke ist angekommen. Verbindungspunkt zeigt auch grün.Hubzilla Workshop hatte ich schon teilgenommen. Hatte den Wikipedia Artikel zu Hubzilla geschrieben. Blick aber immer noch nicht richtig durch. Sehe mir aber die Aufzeichnungen an und lese Pepes Anleitungen. So Sachen wie Verbindung klappt nicht,  irritieren dann den Anfänger!Kann leider Mittwoch erst ab 20 Uhr. Bin vorher in einem Linux Workshop.Werde versuchen ab 20 Uhr zu euch zu stoßen. Ob mein kleines Hirn dann noch was aufnehmen kann, sehe ich dann.;-)
