@Coho This text is not correct. Only water has a pH value by definition.And there is a great difference between European resp.Asian oaks and American sorts. American oaks have softer leaves and thinner leaf blades, which causes them to decompose more quickly. They also contain less tannic acid than the foliage of Old World oak species. The facts stated in the article apply only to American oak species.
