I currently use Ubuntu as my "main work-related stuff" OS for software dev

I use Nobara btw

@washbearleek I use #fedora for years and really love it, but I don't want to recommend people to move from one distro to other just because it was my choice. Use any distro that suits you.

@washbearleek LMDE7?

@washbearleek What would be the advantages of switching? (Edit: I'm using #kubuntu btw)

@washbearleek notEnoughContextException raised.

As a software dev, I have run Ubuntu, and I currently run Fedora. You can’t go wrong choosing either. However, I wouldn’t switch unless I had a good reason.

@adhisimon @washbearleek Ditto. If there isn't a particular reason to switch, the default should be to stay with what you're familiar with.
If something about the distribution you're using does rub you the wrong way, consider a same-family distribution. For someone familiar with Ubuntu, Debian comes to mind as one possibility. (Unlike both Ubuntu and Fedora, it also isn't corporate-controlled, which can be a bonus depending on your views and preferences.)

@washbearleek@mastodon.social well, do you have any reason to switch? Or to just freshen things up? I would stay with Ubuntu if I were you
-
@washbearleek switch to Debian
