    The WHO is pathetically behind.

    "There is “no rational justification remaining for prioritising or using” the surgical masks that are ubiquitous in hospitals and clinics globally, given their “inadequate protection against airborne pathogens”

    “There is even less justification for allowing healthcare workers to wear no face covering at all,”

      @elasticsoul "The WHO is pathetically behind." True, but I'm thankful they've got this far now.

        @robparsons @elasticsoul

        It's maddening that the respirator shown in the photo DOESN'T FIT. They might as well be wearing a surgical mask.

          @Fishercat @elasticsoul yes, lazy choice of stock photo, I assume. And especially annoying as they have a diagram a few paragraphs down showing what the difference *should* be.

            @robparsons @Fishercat @elasticsoul Worse yet it’s a bad photoshop job. At first I was mad they didn’t choose a photo of one worn correctly, but then realized it’s so low on the person’s nose it should be compressing it (and isn’t); the bottom strap has a perfectly straight shadow on the skin of the cheek but also has a highlight that shouldn’t be visible if it’s being shaded by said skin. They chose to shop one in rather than obtain a stock photo of one worn at all.
