Hi! I’m Jynae. I’m a Canadian wood-based visual artist that likes listening to podcasts (such as Search Engine!) while I work on things like this! I like to work with power tools and wood burning tools. No lasers, CNC, or AI involved in my process. All by hand.

@artandairplanes oh, gorgeous. What's the technique for this one specifically ? I like how the lynx blends into the pine forest.

@Kilam123 my parents gave me my grandfathers wood burning tool when I was about 20 years old (14 years ago!) and I slowly got into it. And then my dad taught me how to work with wood and use power tools about 6 years ago! It all came together quite beautifully

@hadriscus thank you! I use a Razertip SL3 pyrography kit with a sharp knife tip so slowly burn the maple wood. This took me about 2 weeks to fully burn. I typically design it first and then follow a real reference photo of the animal, and slowly incorporate a foggy forest from my own imagination

@artandairplanes absolutely brilliant. You must have a really fine tool? So far I've only seen big ones for writing or thick lines for large sketches. But you manage the finest delicate lines for shading 🤩

@artandairplanes that sounds very lovely. I am slowly getting into Lino cut which is kinda similar where your working with the medium to change it into instead of adding paint or other stuff.
