Hi #forkiverse ! A quick intro and a question:
What’s a fond memory you have of the early internet?
Mine was logging onto a parenting blog (mostly moms) around 9 years old and cosplaying as a 95 year old who lost her husband at sea. It was thrilling.Planning to be a bit more authentic here, but still chasing that high. Based in New York, engaged to @quesoman, mother to Minnie the dog.

It was at uni in the UK, around 1994/5, when I was given my first email address.
I used Pegasus Mail to send a message to join an American mailing list, and within 3 minutes, I got a reply. It was mind-blowing!
I was used to FidoNet and BBSes, which even just sending email across the country and getting a reply could take 24h because everything was queued to be sent overnight when people weren't using the system, and phone calls were cheaper.
