@xaetacore @alex @musha Oh, right, I got things mixed up- I am not really used to talk about that kind of thing in english
I never actually tasted ginger root in my life, hm, it doesn't looks tasty at all and I don't ever remember it in my house, but what do you mean by 'VR sickness' then?
Please explain a bit for my stoopid innocent brain
@superboom12s @alex @musha motion sickness by vr, and you can get ginger root supplements.Thats a capsule you don't taste anything -

I don't really get that 'motion sickness' anytime, I could play for several hours without issue, but it is unhealthy and the VR usually ends up overheating and without battery after 1 - 2 hours. But couldn't you make something up with the ginger root? Capsules as a supplement are something I haven't heard about.

Sudden motion stickness randomly out of no where. Though I do blame the bus for being old, rickety and taking an hour and a half to move between a town and city in relatively close proximity.

@superboom12s @xaetacore @alex @musha@Saorsa @xaetacore @alex @musha Hm... The public transportation I take everyday is way shorter, so even if the bus is also old AF and completely messed up, I don't think I'll ever experience it there, specially since you can't sit on it, which I suppose helps against it -

Problem with that, though is I would end up having to walk there and back going to and coming back from campus. The bus I did take on the other hand was just a street away from my house, and taking my Steam Deck did help with alleviating the border until it eventually ran out of battery half way there.

@superboom12s @xaetacore @alex @musha@Saorsa @xaetacore @alex @musha Aldi?! You unlocked a core part of my brainrotted mind again-
But does using your steam deck help?? As far as I know, the common thing is that using your phone, reading and that kind of thing makes everything worse, looking out of the window and stuff should help (probably this helps me to not notice that I have this problem, as even in several hour trips (like 8h+, that I find impressive I don't get bored) I like to look outside all the time), have you tried it or it doesn't work for you? -

The bus I took went through three towns and stopped at every bus stop on its route. That is primarily the reason why it took upward of an hour and a half before reaching my destination.
Around about four quarters of the way, my Steam Deck would usually run out of battery. Only thing I could do from that point onward is to look out of the window at the passing streets and fields. It can help for the most part, though I usually find myself spacing out while left to my thoughts.

@superboom12s @xaetacore @alex @musha@Saorsa @xaetacore @alex @musha Oh! It's a nice thing not to own a mobile phone, I feel the same as you. Right now I only have it to be able to contacted with Telegram (since I stopped using Whatsapp and any other social medie, excepting Mastodon and now Misskey, but I don't have them on my phone), usually without internet. I want to slowly stop using it completely and only have a 'dumb' phone to be able to call others whenever I need. The only thing that I am afraid of is UK, you are forced to own and use a mobile phone there and I am afraid that it will be the same here in a close future...
Being alone with your thoughts some time each day is a good thing, or at least something I like, but have you considered investing in a external battery for the deck? You could even use an old modded phone to charge it, in case you have one. -

I've completely sworn off anything meta related, so imagine the lack of surprise I had when I saw this pop up in my feed recently.

Custom privacy ROM + container for disabling annoying apps and a bit of self control

Problem with that, though is you lose access to banking software. Lot of traditional of banking societies have been moving towards managing your account through a phone application and challenger banks are almost exclusively managed through them.

@superboom12s @xaetacore @alex @musha@Saorsa @xaetacore @alex @musha Oh- I saw that you HAVE to use digital identification in UK or else pay fines each time you wanted to use your phisical ones... So that pretty much forces anyone to use their phone, but maybe it is not just like that. -

@alex @superboom12s @xaetacore @musha@Saorsa @superboom12s @xaetacore @musha Yea that shit is annoying. Dumb phones have the same problem tbh. I used to patch my bank app to work on a rooted phone. Google Pay is like the only thing that no work for me so I just use cards themselves. -
