An abandoned ballroom, one of many that sit decaying in what once was East Germany.
The stunning late 1800s example retains most of its original features, from the mustard-coloured curtains that line the stage to the retro pendant light fitting hanging from the ceiling. Sadly, it suffered a fire a few months before my visit, and the smell of charred wood was still strong in the air.
