      @Tutanota HabrΓ‘ que ir pensando en la posibilidad de montar instancias de mastodon en la dark web usando tor o VPN's, para que estas no estΓ©n obligadas a identificar al 100% de las personas, y conectarnos a ellas todo el mundo con tor tambiΓ©n.

      No sΓ© si algo asΓ es posible de hacer. ΒΏQuΓ© pensΓ‘is?

        @Tutanota
        It's a sad news that even EU countries fall for it.
        I'm curious that in case Germany followed the KYC everywhere rubbish, what will Tuta respond?

          @Tutanota
          These countries listed here consider kids under 16 sub-human.
          These laws are nothing more than taking kids away from their parents, telling them they failed their job and they're not good enough to care for their own kids.
          These laws do not protect kids as people. They protect them as things. Things to be indoctrinated, things to be exploited.
          Remember who always screams about "You'll own nothing and be happy?" The very same people are now taking away the ownership of probably the most valued contribution to your life.

              @SecoasecasMouse @Tutanota no creo que se pueda exigir verificaciΓ³n de edad en redes federadas, teniendo en cuenta que cualquiera puede simplemente hostear su propia instancia personal. las instancias quΓ© podrΓan llegar a estar en peligro son las oficiales de Mastodon por ser tan grandes

              hasta donde yo sΓ© Mastodon quiere fragmentar un poco mΓ‘s a los usuarios cambiando el flujo de registro para que mastodon.social no sea la instancia por defecto

                @Tutanota The internet is failing society. Social media is controlled by nazis and oligarchs. Anonymous botpeople push citizens towards right-wing and racist ideologies. Foreign corporations and dictatorships are taking over the public discourse in Europe and elsewhere.

                I am not surprised that age verification is popular. And I think more people are going to demand even more verification β€” the bots fucking suck and hardly anyone in tech is interested in looking at the problem.

                  @Tutanota it's kind of nerve-wracking seeing my country join the cool kids club of age verification, like we didn't have enough with LaLiga strong-arming ISPs and VPN companies to censor the internet under the excuse of "fighting piracy of football streams"

                    @Tutanota

                    and how many will use shady outfits linked to the US empire to do those checks?

                    I heard the other day that reddit chose to use a group linked to Peter Theil and Palantir.

                    Read that again. *chose* to.

                      @Tutanota This is highly misleading, as it depends on the concrete implementation. E.g. the german person ID supports anynoymous age verification https://www.berechtigungszertifikat.de/web-basierte-altersverifikation-per-personalausweis.html

                        @Tutanota I'm Aussie and actively helping my young teens navigate not giving over their pii for social accounts. The implementation is laughable for now, much like the censorship of websites via DNS.
