@tbortels @nik @adafruit I think the mob is mostly riled because of the idiotic way in which Adafruit decided to response to the initial mistake. Besides that I think we agree. My problem with AI is mainly that it's mostly controlled by a few assholes. With the insane resource requirements being a close second.

@renedudfield @adafruit All of the fields you list have faced these massive quantities of job losses specifically because of LLMs replacing humans. "AI" is overwhelmingly being used as a tool by the ownership class to skip human labor, not by workers to chase already endless and exploitative efficiency targets

I'm just learning Kicad, and I didn't know about the 40% reflow rule, so thanks for that education.For the past 25 years, I've tried to avoid proprietary closed-source tools for my software work, and now I think hardware is getting closer to having totally FOSS tool-chains, including FPGA programming and silicon chip design. I'm not exactly "looking forward" to using FOSS equivalents of what you've shown here, but I do like the idea of having reliable automated routing and layout tools in FOSS tools, like Kicad.
