What have *you* done to increase shareholder value today? -
every time I see someone post that "trans rules of engagement" article, I'm reminded of the two times I've seen that sort of approach actually implemented:@YKantRachelRead i am kind of sympathetic to the motives here. But the way forward is we need to find a way for the culture at large to be willing to see trans people as individuals, instead of leaping to blame transness for any nasty thing any particular person does
be willing to employ and house trans people
be willing to give us medical care
because also part of the reasons predators get easy access to victims is the entirety of society has been, (according to the epstein files, very deliberately) engineered to push trans women out of every space except those easily available to predators

i still haven’t fully processed that famous rock song “Walk on the Wild Side”, which feels like one of those songs that everyone has listened to and maybe even hummed along toi still haven’t fully processed that famous rock song “Walk on the Wild Side”, which feels like one of those songs that everyone has listened to and maybe even hummed along to

what if the male loneliness epidemic isn’t real, but just the consequences of emphasising that the only legitimate intimacy a man should ever experience is penis in vagina, and anything other than that is shameful and effeminatewhat if the male loneliness epidemic isn’t real, but just the consequences of emphasising that the only legitimate intimacy a man should ever experience is penis in vagina, and anything other than that is shameful and effeminate
what if the male loneliness epidemic is just the logical consequence of puritanically enforced masculinity as something that must be diametrically opposed to anything at all labelled as feminine

"Trans women have no advantage in women's sports, studies confirm this result"@hrefna you’re right. they’re saying “sample size wasn’t big enough” - and just fully not grasping the implication of that statement- that it proves trans women have no advantage

🆕 pandoc 3.9 🎉🚀@pandoc my website is https://notes.yip.pe
the build script is listed in the index, as a polyglot file: it builts itself into an html file along with the other pages. each html file has an .md file source that just needs the extension changed.
so, because deno kinda follows web standards i may at some point some day be able to host the static builder in the browser as well as run it offline in a terminal. one day

🆕 pandoc 3.9 🎉🚀@pandoc i use pandoc as part of a static website build using Deno. I think this will let me switch out the system command shell call to a wasm call.

i think all men should be forced to remain celibate until they've seriously transitioned at least once@apophis
forcfem does not guarantee getting laid
getting laid does not guarantee citizenship
citizenship does not guarantee rights
rights do not guarantee safety
safety do not guarantee happiness
happiness do not guarantee bloop bloop bloop -
i think all men should be forced to remain celibate until they've seriously transitioned at least once@apophis ironically, as long as it’s not presented in bad faith, nothing proves transness is a real thing like cis people trying to transition

"transfeminists who don't center transmasculine people are generally white and have never been marginalized in their life" my dude our marginalization begins when the doctor puts the 'M' on our birth records@steff @imbl @YKantRachelRead still, having nice nails, smooth skin, and nice clothes is nice. we can reject the bourgie framing, we don’t live in revolutionary france. this stuff is cheap and accessible now.

"transfeminists who don't center transmasculine people are generally white and have never been marginalized in their life" my dude our marginalization begins when the doctor puts the 'M' on our birth records@steff @imbl @YKantRachelRead verilybitchy made a very good video essay about that; but even before the essay came out, I was saying this; that so much of what the culture thinks are femininity signifiers are historically class signifiers. high heels, painted nails, corsettes, lace, high fashion; all things that used to be way more expensive and worn by upper class men. there was a deliberate and explicitly misogynistic shift to associate bourgeoisie and frivolous things with femininity so men could look serious and practical by comparison
