@linux_mclinuxface I think bladed flat will be better for that cycle than what's going to happen when the mess on my street thaws and freezes. Right now it's soft and still pushes people around. When the uneven ruts are frozen it won't be good.

That said, it looks like we might just be into a full thaw for a week as the forecast lows are all above zero.

@AmeliasBrain Sounds like they're doing a light blade on some neighbourhoods early. Tara on CBC this morning said they did her neighbourhood and I think she's in Queen Mary Park. For the drainage I know last year they had steam trucks clearing the drains in the spring. Hopefully they have something planned for this big warm spell.

@AmeliasBrain Not pavement as they blade to 5cm to remove the ruts. Blading to pavement would take a few times longer I think.

When you find a race condition bug that almost never happens but is of moderate consequence and could require rewriting an entire process. Not sure if there's a shim I can put in or not on something I wrote in 2009. Current me needs to have some words with old me about things I've learned in the intervening 17 years.

@ppival This feels like a case where LLMs could solve an issue caused by LLMs. I know many profs who have moved to having their students submit handwritten assignments to combat use of LLMs by students. Marking handwritten assignments can be significantly more time consuming. If they could be accurately transcribed that could be a gain for profs and teachers.

@stephanie That's a long time for no saves. I'd have issues with that given I often only play something for an hour after work.

@stephanie Depends on the particular game design although sometimes I think they could solve the issue single saves.

I'm currently playing Blue Prince and you can only save in between runs (days in the game). Being a puzzle game I can see how limiting saves contributes to the game but it there have been a couple times it's been frustrating. Notably on the PS5 if you put the machine in rest mode the game is effectively paused but if any updates run overnight you lose your state.

@the5thColumnist I suspect that NATO membership would be negotiated as part of any independence process. Notably Greenland independence is not, as far as I know, opposed by the government of Denmark. They have said that choice is up to the people of Greenland so I expect if the people of Greenland did vote for independence it would be a relatively civil process.

@likelyjanlukas The snow I love and we need a lot of more it really. It’s still really dry overall. Enough snow to affect the summer fire season would be great.
